The value in this design is really shines with in the field use; For instance, you can now permanently attach your HAGz® Universal Lock to your trap as the lock will slide over the stake end, creating a simpler transport/carry and hookup at the trap site. This method is MUCH preferred over having to leave a lock on the rod with a “quick” attach device – can be slow and prone to failure.

Additionally, setting the trap is safer as you now can install the bottom of the rod, set trap (In or out of the water) and slide lock with set trap over end then stake. This is MUCH preferred over having a swinging trap (often set) from the rod while you insert the bottom end – unsafe, cumbersome and prone to snapped traps.

This design also allows quick change up between rods, wire, chain, etc.. This is MUCH preferred over having to have additional locks setting aside for single use cases or needing tools to switch between methods – slow and wasteful.

We had several designs over the last few seasons, came full circle several times, just couldn’t stop coming back to this style of stake end, so we perfected it!

HAGz® Tail-Hook™ – Muskrat Skinning Tool

The Hook inserts into the bottom of the tail, holding the Muskrat firmly in place while skinning.

User Friendly Design: The Hang loop was designed with a large loop as well as a ‘loop gap’ to either fit over the top of common fur shed objects such as a winch hook or by using the gap to slip onto a chain gambrel ring or other form of ‘loop’.

*Multiple uses in the fur shed such as using it to hang fur to thaw (stick point in nostril of pelt) or using it to assist in skinning beaver.

DIRECTIONS:

Hang the HAGz® Tail-Hook™ from a secure object.
Pierce the point of the hook into the bottom of the Muskrats tail 1″-2″ inches from the fur line to where the point touches the tail bone.
Skin Muskrat – The point of the hook will bite into the tail bone as downward pressure is applied, holding it in place and keeping it from falling while you skin.
When complete, a simple flip of the thumb between the tail and hook will quickly free the Muskrat from the hook. Ready for the next one.

Designed to work by itself on 1/2″ rods or in conjunction with the HAGz® Bracket for extreme versatility. Small and non-invasive, the HAGz® Spring Clip XL is inserted through the Spring Coils where it remains always attached, never forget it, and doesn’t interfere with the spring eye.

Uses gravity to mount/lock in position on 1/2″ rods, simply slide it where you want and let go, easily adjustable to any height on the rod making it a very quick and versatile body grip stabilizer.
Use it in conjunction with the HAGz® Bracket to stabilize a Body Grip Trap virtually anywhere.
