The Trapline Mole Trap–Finally a Sensible Trap for Moles!

The Trapline mole trap is a very small trap that slides into an intact mole run. It is triggered directly by the mole as the mole passes through its tunnels. The jaws of the trap close directly onto the mole without having to close through a dirt blockage.

Traps are sold with OR without a swivel for anchoring/ marking in runs.  If you decide to order without a swivel, you will have to make your own anchoring system.

I offer a “Starter Kit” which includes 2 standard mole traps with swivels and 2 flags for anchoring/ marking. You can find them under the Standard Mole drop down.  The kits will be shipped out in a small flat rate box.  The flag wires have to be bent to fit in box but can be reshaped when they arrive which will not affect their intended purpose.

I have had great success with the standard mole trap for chipmunks.

Standard mole traps have a jaw spread of approximately 2″ and works well in a soil types.

Large mole traps have a jaw spread of approximately 2 1/4″ and works best in softer soil (sand, peat).

Gopher traps have a jaw spread of approximately 2 1/4″ and are longer than the mole traps.

I will be experimenting with the gopher trap for red squirrel and barn rats.  It should be an effective means of control in rat runs in the barns and chicken coops.
